A nuestros huéspedes les encanta nuestro desayuno. No solo por el café local de Boquete, la fruta fresca y el desayuno caliente, sino que también les encanta cenar con las aves locales de Boquete. Más de 100 especies de aves se han visto en nuestro jardín durante años. Todas las mañanas, traemos fruta para los pájaros y en cuestión de minutos, se unen a nosotros, ¡volando hacia donde están cenando los invitados! Puede ver más aves aquí que en muchos de los senderos de Boquete (sendero el Pianista, el sendero de los quetzales, el sendero Pipeline). ¡Es el lugar perfecto para tomarse una selfie con las aves de Boquete! Al reservar con el Boquete Garden Inn, el desayuno está incluido en la tarifa.

Our guests love our breakfast. Not only for the local Boquete coffee, fresh fruit, and hot breakfast, but they also love dining with the local Boquete birds. More than 100 species of birds have been seen in our garden over the years. Every morning, we put out fruit for the birds and within minutes, they join us, flying right up to the guests. Many birderes have told us that you can see more birds here than on many of the Boquete hiking trails (Il Pianista, Quetzal Trail, Pipeline Trail). It is the perfect place to take a selfie with the birds of Boquete! When you book with the Boquete Garden Inn, breakfast is included in the rate.

The World's Longest Flight.

New Direct Flights to Panama

Two announcements this week about direct flights to Panama:

1) Starting February 1, 2016, Emirates will launch a flight from Dubai to Panama City. At 17 hours and 35 minutes, this flight will have the distinction of the world’s longest flight.

2) Air France is expanding its Paris to Panama City service, with six weekly flights between Charles de Gaulle and Tocumen International, starting November 2015.

Birds of Panama: the Summer Tanager in Boquete

This beautiful fella is a Summer Tanager. But wait! He, along with some other birds of his genus, are no longer part of the Tanager family: they’ve been re-classified, and are now part of the Cardinal family. (But he still goes by Tanager. He’s not partial to hyphenated last names). Confused? Don’t worry. All you have to know is that he is gorgeous and he is currently enjoying his ‘Breakfast with the Birds” gig at Boquete Garden Inn (the best place to spot the birds of Panama!)

While the new mayor of Boquete, Sr Millo Vasquez, has initiated a number of important projects in Boquete, the one with the potential for the most fun and wacky hijinks is the live webcam. Located in our town’s central park, the two cameras broadcast 24/7. On top of exciting local events, you can watch old fellers nod off, teenagers preening and prancing and cell phone bunnies pimping the latest data plan.

I am looking forward to prearranging times to wave and act silly for family members and friends back home. And of course, tourists planning to visit our sweet town can get a preview before they arrive!

New Panama flights: United Launches Direct Panama-Denver service

More exciting news about Panama flights! (It seems this blog has morphed into a ‘new Panama flights’ blog).

United Airlines has announced new direct flights between Denver, Colorado and Panama City, Tocumen International Airport. Starting August 2015, flights will operate daily (five times a week between September and October 2015).

And with the news of direct flights to David Panama (the addition of Copa Airlines flights between Tocumen International Airport and David Airport), it’s even easier for Coloradans (?) to come visit us in Boquete. (A large percentage of our US guests come from Colorado!)
